Stream: Azealia Banks’ “Yung Rapunxel”

Meet the Lady of Rage

Sounding more like a song inspired by a horror film, Azealia Banks self-releases official single “Yung Rapunxel” from forthcoming album “Broke with Expensive Taste” on music website two weeks earlier than scheduled. Instead of channeling her anger in this form of expression, we would advise she see a shrink. We don’t like where all of this (online beef and such) is going for Azealia. Reading quotes about the abuse she received from her mother and hearing the angry delivery in this song, we want her to take this time — before releasing her album — to work on herself. Hearing her say things like “She’s tired of all of this drama” and “I wanna be free”, it makes us think it is deeper than music. We are not doctors, but it sounds like an honest cry for help.

Postscript: We don’t see this as a single or a song that should have been qualified to be released on a debut album.

We love you Azealia!
