Sound Searching: Gavin Turek

A pretty blast from the past

With a thumping retro synth that could have been transmitted to the future from Beverly Hills Cop, Gain Turek shows off her dance moves in a video directed by 8 iPhones. Yes, you read that right. After watching this video, you’d think she was the choreographer for an American musical-drama film directed by Herbert Ross. She cuts some serious concrete in “Let Me Go”. It’ll be hard for you not to dance like it’s 1984.

This is Turek’s second single release from a forthcoming EP titled, “The Break-Up Tape”. So far this Los Angeles native has collaborated with the likes of TOKiMONSTA, Com Truise and Paper Diamond… and she was discovered by TOKiMONSTA! We love them all, so we love Gavin too.

*The only thing that truly bothers me about this video is that her lovely curls bombard her face over and over again. Take care of that next time, please.
