If you’re mad at Martin $ky about being on his “SELF” shit, that’s unfortunate. Full of good vibes, good times and a damned good palette of wit, he’s mastered the art of selfishness. From the first moment I heard the South Side Chicago-native’s latest release, I could hear the hungry and confidence he exudes. Though he’s been making music as Martin $ky since 2013, it seems like he’s been on the musical landscape forever — and that’s a compliment. Check out his new infectious record below, which the rapper-producer says was inspired by “the way Chicago rappers interact and politic with one another.”

Postscript: He might be the only cool, emerging rapper who listens to Madlib and eats brunch by the ocean.
