Spring in the South is a beautiful thing. There’s about a two-week recess between the time pollen comes to attack our cars and our sinuses. If you miss it, you’re in luck until next year. Just as the pollen rinses away, the inescapable heat comes back for any survivors. If you’re like me, you take full advantage of these two weeks by rolling down the windows, and bumping something like Young Thug’s “Free Gucci”, as you ride around. Something about the track sounds like the newness of Spring. It gives me that “I’m feeling myself today,” vibe—like I can do anything. I’m thinking about riding around in a Back To The Future-ish Jeep Wrangler, bumping this song with the doors off in ‘95. That’s just me.

When you hear Thuga’s excitable voice over this jiggy Metro Boomin beat, you’ll start feeling pretty invincible yourself. So whether you’re thinking about time-travel, hustling unicorns or walking on water, “Free Gucci” could be your theme music. Don’t be surprised if you hear this one everywhere this Spring, from the strip club to the cookout.
