Shy FX, a musical artist that I have come to know after the recent release of his monster hit ‘Roll The Dice’ featuring Stamina MC & Lily Allen, is back with a new record titled, ‘Rudeboy Lovesong’. As the title of the song suggests, it is about a love story told from the perspective of a person not known for tenderness and delicacy. Sure enough, though, opposites attract, as they say, so the common narrative persists. As a couple, they’ve been through a lot; no one knows what they’ve been through, but their bond and love seem to be unconditional.
Shy FX, if you didn’t know, is the grandkid of DJ Count Shelly, a pioneering Jamaican Soundsystem DJ, who made his name in the beautiful nineties as a trailblazer of Ragga-Jungle with the release of the seminal anthem ‘Original Nuttah’ featuring UK Apachi. It went on to become the first ever Jungle track to enter the UK Top 40 during a time when British Pop and girl bands were most popular.
The track featuring Cara Delevingne and Sweetie Irie is from his forthcoming project ‘Raggamuffin’, set to come out March 15.
