As she carries on in what appears to be a wedding dress, Mika Means sings about wanting to be single. She would rather be alone than to start a relationship, knowing that it will crash and burn. Gamblers – Corinthian Order (Submission)
Voices are special. They are one of the best things we possess as human beings. Which brings me to the Gamblers, a Brooklyn, New York-based Indie-Pop band with a song about a relationship about being truthful, falling out of love, and the reality of the end. Rejection is hard. When you’re experiencing it, it feels like retribution. It is a punishment to the human heart. Like me, the lead singer states that it is “alright”, and wishes her the best on her journey of life. I mean, that’s all we can do. It’s all we should do. No matter how hard it gets. Check out the song ‘Corinthian Order’ now. Their debut album, of the same name, is out now.
Sharkey Barcus – Bad Shirt (Submission)
Although the vocals are fighting with the sounds from the guitar and drum, ‘Bad Shirt’ is the kind of Rock’n’Roll that I grew up hearing/watching on television. The exciting musical composition is from the debut record, ‘Cluster’. According to the words submitted to me with the music, ‘Bad Shirt’ is about outgrowing friendships and being content with underachieving as everyone around you transitions into success. The Aces – Last One (Submission)
One of our favourite bands, The Aces, is back with an exaggerative video for ‘Last One’, showing the ladies transforming from everyday humans into gummy bear eating zombies. The Utah-native quartet plays until the very last moments of their lives, with someone in a bear costume closing their caskets on stage. When it came to the treatment of their video, they chose to be literal.
