Sharing Sounds: New music you should notice (May 2)

Sharing Sounds

Sharing Sounds: May 2, 2016

In one fashion or another, this idea came about, and fellow journalists and friends wanted me to start a list of my five most listened to songs of the week, or to share five songs from the many submissions we receive at GrungeCake every week. I’ve decided to give it a go but in my way. Because this is my list, you may find five different songs by the same artist, songs that I miss hearing, or just selections from various countries and genres.

This week I’ve decided to add to my archive and highlight “Vehement” by European producer Sh?m. I’ve also included “Let It Bang” by A$AP Ferg because it features Young Dirty Bastard as Ferg’s uncle and has a bone-chilling verse from ScHoolboy Q (just the way I like it). I chose “Coolin’ Boolin” by Fortune, not only because he is Future’s new artist and I think the bass on the record is amazing, the St. Louis-native rapper lets you know that he “don’t talk,” he “make[s] it happen.” Young Thug and WIZE’s new song for obvious reasons (🔥), and this Conrank track was going to be a premiere on GrungeCake but we didn’t get around to it.
