Nearly two years ago, my review of Sarkodie’s ‘Highest’ received a crazy about of fan love, which made me pay keen attention to modern day African pop stars. As my previous review mentions, Twi-speaking rapper Sarkodie is “the most proficient bilingual rapper I have heard in a good while”. The quality of his recording and its delivery remains at a high level, carrying over from his 2017 release, ‘Higher’. The six-track effort, ‘Alpha’, features two artists Joey B on ‘Legend’ and ‘Ebony on ‘ODO’. If you’re a new artist or a standup human being, there are lots of [English] takeaways and mantras in the songwriting for you. Listen up!
