Nashville-based recording artist Sarah Darling releases a cover of ‘Wide Open Spaces’ on her ‘Campfire Sessions’ project. Her voice on the track is soft, yet commanding. Her vocals are met with the strings of an acoustic guitar being strummed, amplifying her performance on the track. The song was selected for this project, as Sarah cites The Chicks, formerly The Dixie Chicks, as being a major influence to this cover. I thought that she did an absolutely spectacular job with this rendition through allowing for a raw feel to a well-known song.
