Stream: Grand Rapid’s own Rosewood 2055 new EP, Hey

he début EP from Grand Rapids, Michigan-native artists Rosewood 2055, titled “Hey!” is a breath of fresh air. Statik Selektah and Mozaic produced this extended play, as well as mixed by Ralph “Young RJ” Rice. Emcees Marq Beyond and Kysean Bell, known together as Rosewood 2055 (formerly known as “The Action Figures,”) project spans a total of eleven tracks, and is led by single “Topless,” the video for which garnered much acclaim from DJ Booth readers upon its release. Fellow Michigan rapper Guilty Simpson makes a lone guest appearance on the project and kills it!

Rosewood 2055

The name derives from the address of Ottawa Hills High School, alma mater to Floyd Mayweather, DeBarge, and Marvin Sapp. It’s the experiences there that influenced Rosewood 2055’s story. The two began touring globally in 2013, building buzz and momentum through specific working relationships. Mainly, the renowned Hip-Hop group Slum Village.
