Even after the rise of Drake, The Weeknd and Tory Lanez, male artists are still emerging from Toronto, Canada. Nue, like the agency, shares the official video for ‘4 AM’, a song inspired by a “booty call”: Wee hour activity for the wee-wee area. With a vocal performance style reminiscent of tempos, I’ve heard in the past, the artist sort of whines (without annoyance) his way through verses about being a different breed, going to sleep in a coffin, and other details about his lavish lifestyle. It marks his first official single of 2019. Nue describes the record as, “The comedown after the after party. When it’s just you and whichever company you have at 4AM—when you’re fucked up and your night’s turning into morning.”
The late night/early morning-inspired tune follows the release of his latest project, ‘U Met Me At A Strange Time’. If you haven’t heard it, you can stream it after you watch the NSFW 918Child-direction. Watch the visual for the Dnny Phntm & Ambezza production below.
