From the topics covered to the style choices donned on the bodies of its purveyors, I cannot get enough of Rock music. It could be MTV’s influence, and the types of music my mother played in my presence. I’m happy it happened. Like any other genre, there are subgenres. Which brings me to Novagolde, the self-proclaimed four-piece “indie space rockers” (Michael Bonebrake, Lee Chato, Craig Michaels, and Jon Paul). ‘Bloodfall’, the opening track, features layered melodies, spirals into a galactic fold crafted in a makeshift studio that only cranks out lo-fi mixes.

I like ‘Next Time I’ll Survive’ most. ‘Jail’ doesn’t pull me in like the others, but I believe it has its purpose. The last song ‘Novagolde Chain Reaction’ is about moving past your adversaries. We all go through different sorts of issues, but surviving them isn’t easy. Hopefully, the track will help those get through it.

It’s a short project, but it sounds good. Give it a listen now. It’s not every day that we get to hear music from Madison, Wisconsin. Check out the self-titled independent release below.
