On the first day of 2019, Noname released a new song. ‘Song 31’ comes off the heels of her critically-acclaimed debut album, ‘Room 25’, which released in September. The new song arrives in the form of a kept promise to her fans following a sold-out three-night residency in her hometown of Chicago at Thalia Hall to close out 2018. ‘Song 31’ features vocals by Chicago’s Phoelix who produced the new track. The song acts as a finale to an amazing year for the artist whose album appeared on countless “Best Albums of 2018” lists and received universal acclaim upon its release, as well as, an opening statement for the new year ahead.
Tonight, Noname will be launching her expansive headlining North American tour, beginning in Detroit, she will play 37 shows across North America, including sold-out dates in Toronto, NYC, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Seattle. Remaining tickets for the tour are on sale now at nonamehiding.com.
In early December, Noname released her first-ever music video for ‘Blaxploitation’ from Room 25. Noname was also prominently featured in the December issue of Rolling Stone, which is on stands now. Around the release of the album, the very private artist opened up for her most personal interview to date in a conversation with The FADER’s Rawiya Kameir for the Fall Fashion issue. Following the album’s release, Noname performed a captivating three-song melody on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
