Saxophonist and melody poet Mike Casey attended the renowned Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz, where he was one of twenty-four young composers selected worldwide to participate in the prestigious Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Program at the Kennedy Center in 2015. Since then, the Cambridge-born has collaborated with GRAMMY-nominated artists and has performed at several major venues including Lincoln Center and NYC SummerStage. In 2017, Casey showcased his sound on his debut album, ‘Surprise: Live at the Side Door’, a two fifty-minute set project, which he and his trio recorded live. Casey and his unique Jazz music have since passed five million streams. Casey’s new single ‘Squeaky Wheel (Take 2)’ is six minutes of easy-listening Contemporary Jazz.

The track starts off with a rapid tempo saxophone melody backed by light drum and piano chords which then transitions to a smoother more relaxed tempo. Casey’s sound on this track seems to blend the disjunct melodic line elements of Bebop Jazz and the mellow textures of Contemporary Jazz.
