It is one thing to listen to ambient, elevator music, or heavy bass instrumentals. It’s another to be at peace as a seven-minute composition plays as you think about all of the things you won’t be doing this Monday. ‘Moonlight Sonata: Adagio’ by the Israeli composer, Maya Beiser, is my record of choice. As someone who wakes up when most people at home are resting their bodies, I have to find music that goes with the tide, non-interruptive BPMs and such. How or why is it not interruptive? Her heartbeat is her inspiration, and it is beautiful.
Born to an Argentinean father and French mother, in her early life, Beiser learned classical cello. Aside from playing on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, her new solo album ‘delugEON’ is set to come out August 30. It is the follow-up to her 2016 album ‘TranceClassical’, in which she collaborated with Michael Gordon, Imogen Heap, Glenn Kotche, Lou Reed, David Lang, and more.
