Lil Wayne tweeted what seems to be a retirement statement on September 3. The legendary recording artist and entrepreneur responsible for bringing Drake and Nicki Minaj to the world said that he is “now defenseless and mentally defeated.” Over the years, a public dispute has been going on between Birdman and Lil Wayne. However, the call to the Miami Police Department seemed to break the camel’s back. According to US Magazine, this is the second prank concerning a shooting at his Miami home in 18 months. At some point, someone shot up the rapper’s tour bus. On another occasion, Birdman threw a drink at him on stage. Early reports on the incident say the label refused to release his 11th studio album, Tha Carter V. Instead of settling, the pair called the $51M lawsuit off.

Since the artist published the tweet, many fellow entertainers have come to his side, tweeting their support and specifically naming Birdman as the reason behind his tweet. Drake also posted about Lil Wayne on Instagram.

“The boss @liltunechi. We are fighting until you get yours. Freedom to drop music and peace of mind. I don’t know what these other weirdos are on with all the side talks but I know you gave me a shot and all I can ever do with the rest of my life is return the favor. YOUNG MONEY FOREVER”, he wrote as a caption on the photo.

Missy Elliott shared her concern, saying she will always be a fan of his work. Chance The Rapper tweeted at Lil Wayne, saying “Dear @LilTunechi I just wanna remind you that absolutely nothing and no one in this world can defeat you. Tell them devils back back.”

A fan tweeted Rick Ross, a fellow rapper in Miami and MMG label owner, asking him to deliver Lil Wayne from his troubles. The fan believes that Rick Ross is the only one that would be able to do such a deed. Rick Ross replied, tweeting “get Birdman on the phone.”

On a personal note, it is heartbreaking to read such a statement written by Lil Wayne. I hope he finds peace. I hope that he is newly inspired sooner than later. Wayne, your fans are praying for you and we wish you all the best.
