edisi may not be a household name, but this soulful songstress, actor and songwriter have collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry: Kirk Franklin, John Legend, and BJ the Chicago Kid, just to name a few.

It’s evident that she’s a veteran and has been around for quite some time. The nine-time Grammy-nominated songstress recently released the official video for her single “High” off her latest album, “Let Love Rule.”

In my opinion, the music video features excellent dancing from two young men on a sidewalk. As Ledisi walks through the city, she sings about what she’s been up to and resurfacing. She talks about heartbreak, focus, and not wanting to feel broken. Somehow, through her strength perhaps, Ledisi seems to be resilient. She is optimistic, not worrying about stress, and feeling like high. What a good place to be.

Aptly, the video also focuses on couples. Lovers float (airborne) as they show public displays of affection. With the song being extremely groovy and upbeat, I think the visual for this song did a superb job of conveying the song’s message and meaning. Watch the video now for “High” below.
