n collaboration with Philadelphia-native singer Res, Kriswontwo shares “Crying For You.” What does it mean to cry for someone? Is it a form of pity? Or is it met with genuine sorrow? If we go by the lyrics, as we should because it is an article about the song, it is a form of pity. The mentioned individuals are shallow. He and she are hollow. The Copenhagen, Denmark-native producer accentuates the rhythm in all the ways I enjoy.

Smooth and creamy, yet basked with one Houston’s most popular techniques on the chorus, the repetitive phrases build the tone for its lyrical delivery. Calling out an individual for cagey or deceitful behaviour in the first verse is an attractive quality; Arriving at the point is annoyingly underrated.

“Crying for You” is the lead single from Kriswontwo’s sophomore album: Back to One, which is set to release in Autumn/Fall of 2017. Georgia Anne Muldrow‘s label—SomeOthaShip Connect—will have the honor of releasing it in the world.
