Hello there, fans. We’re jumping back into the blogosphere and I just wanted to kick it off by talking about something that might be annoying to most people, but necessary to address.
If you are like me, someone who doesn’t necessarily Keep Up With The Kardashians anymore because her work has been kicking her ass or you simply do not care, a while’s back, Kim Kardashian married an American Professional Basketball Player by the name of Kris Humphries who currently plays for the Brooklyn Nets and boy oh boy was it a public event. The “Double K Affair,” or questionable “lovers'” relationship and wedding were fed to the world in the wonderful form of broadcasting. We swallowed and digested it. Now, fast forward. Kris and Kim are separated and Kim soon files for a divorce. Next, rumours about her dating Rapper Kanye West exceed the bandwidth of the Internet. Kris does not honour the divorce. Then, a subliminal shot is sent his way by her new man-piece. From photos of the two published on Twitter and appearing in public and on television for promotional reasons, most speculations die. Kim gets an interview with Oprah and mentions him during the interview. All speculations die. What seemed to be moments later, West announced Kimmy Kardashian is having his baby at a rap concert that she sat in the audience for.
I figure I’d get into this Kris Humphries v. Kim Kardashian drama because we all have opinions that smell like assholes. As of this weekend, allegedly, there’s a report rolling around the Internet stating that Kim Kardashian (again, allegedly) offered Kris Humpries ten million dollars as a divorce settlement deal. Let’s think about what’s happening here for a few milliseconds.
Whilst many reporters are stating their vivid and mostly negative opinions about his reasoning for not taking the money and so forth, let’s think about how he is now viewed by the world (of fellow businesses.) Being in the entertainment business for a couple of years, I get to hear and understand a lot of things the average person will never know. Last year, I was working with a professional who will certainly remain nameless. They contacted to take on Kris Humphries as a client, but they refused because of the bad press he was receiving in the media. This Professional did not want to have their brand(s) associated with Humphries. When I learned that, I understood that he, personally, and his image were suffering publicly. I could only imagine who else didn’t want to have anything to do with him.
Is what he doing wrong? Is how he chooses to handle this situation with his wife incorrect? I don’t think so. I think it’s different for America to see. We are used to women being “used” or “victimized,” but in this case, it is a fellow Entertainer who has garners 12M dollars of his own annually. Someone who is a younger man than his wife. Someone who was not a celebrity, but dated and married one. I say fair is fair.
Here are some questions we’d like answered if another Oprah interview happens anytime soon:
Is this all happening because she wants to get married to her current beau Kanye West before giving birth? Has Kanye West given her an ultimatum? Is it the mere possibility of Kris Humphries filing for custody of their baby? (There’s a possibility that he will win. He is financially capable and he is still married to her, legally. Meaning that legally, their baby is his child.
