King Arthur – Places (Submission)
Last week, King Arthur released ‘Places’, a song about getting away. Pinning it to current world issues, the Amsterdam-native Electronic producer hopes that he can make us feel better, dance and smile. He hopes that ‘Places’ can take us back to a time, in our youth, where we viewed the world with ‘wonder and awe’. His atmospheric music encapsulates the warm weather vibes that we’re struggling to get in New York City. If only King Arthur’s music came in pill form, we would be able to feel utopic beach vibes all year round in the Northeastern parts of the United States.
TheSirDuke – Good Vibes (Submission)
‘Come and vibe with me’, the beginning of the track repeats, as the Chicagoan artist sets the mood for his latest record about life after surviving the streets of Chicago. After dodging the inevitable ills of streets, all I would want to do is relax, too. Within the lines of the song, he shares that prayer helps him to cope. Energy is real; TheSirDuke isn’t in denial. So, without further ado, stream the chill track by singer-rapper, TheSirDuke, below. He flows effortlessly on the well-produced ‘Good Vibes’.
The Abnorm – Loose Change (Submission)
It’s not every day that we receive content from Kansas City, but this record is one to share. From its funky old school vibe and the familiar chords that remind me of the outstanding Hip-Hop classic ‘Sugar Hill’ by AZ, The Abnorm resurrects the soundscape to let us know he does not believe in loose change. Listen to the groovy, beautiful composition reworked by Dominique Sanders.
Darci – On My Own (Submission)
Darci, the mysterious modern dark R&B-Soul duo created a song that mirrors what it feels like to be alone, and to achieve your goals by yourself. Hey, if you aren’t the co-dependent type, you might be at an advantage. Honestly, it is a blessing to ride solo. I couldn’t tell you how many times things worked out for me when I packed light. Nonetheless, there are also blessings in having a supportive network. Like anything else in life, you have to find your balance. Then, make it work for you.
Seven Lions, Tritonal and Kill the Noise – Horizon featuring Haliene (Submission)
Who doesn’t enjoy a good build up? ‘Horizon’ by Seven Lions, Tritonal and Kill the Noise has a way of making the heart rate increase. The guys toured North America last year. As a result, comes this record. I could only imagine what it must have been like to create something like it, with that amount of people involved. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of going to an EDM event, you know that there are records that get the crowd going. I image ‘Horizon’ would be one of them. Hailene’s angelic voice takes the record to another dimension.
