I know what you mean Kevin but I get tired, and Kevin, I’m really sorry.
Dear Kevin and hustlers alike,
I have had just as many jobs as you, for many years, and I didn’t get tired either. However, my doctor prescribed that I should get tired and tap out for 8 hours everyday, if I want to be around for a long time. Therefore, I gets tired.
From the moment I heard his voice over fun and energetic tracks, I added the 28-year-old emerging talent from Louisiana to my playlist. There’s something really inviting about Kevin Gates. It could be that his stories are relatable and familiar or it could be the vulnerability he expressed onstage at the Best Buy Theater for XXL’s 2014 Freshman Tour concert this Summer.
He told the audience that he was nervous and as a result, Gates moved very little when onstage. Surprisingly, his voice was not shaky and rang of confidence. I sympathized with him because he’s a new artist, signed to Atlantic Records, but I hope the next time I see him live, he’s sharp and his stage fright is no longer an issue.
Whatever it is, Gates is a hustler and his message is evident: Especially on the track for his latest video release ‘I Don’t Get Tired’ featuring his fellow Louisiana-native and XXL Magazine cover featured artist August Alsina. Seemingly, August Alsina was not available to be in this video but there are clips of him, possibly from the XXL showcase. Watch the video below, you won’t get tired of singing the lyrics to the hook.
