Produced by Kenna and Chad Hugo (The Neptunes / N.E.R.D), “Relations” is the title track from Chapter 1 of Kenna’s unique three-part movement of EP’s entitled Imitation Is Suicide, which was released in September. Chapter 2 dropped in October and was fully written, produced and created by Kenna. The well-received title track “Love Is Still Alive”, was accompanied by the eerie electro-pop groove track “Long Gone”, along with the smooth, soul-relaxing song “Heaviness.”
Inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson’s essay “Self-Reliance”, Imitation Is Suicide is a brilliant mix of multiple genres spotlighting Alternative, Funk, R&B, Rock, and Hip-Hop meshed with electronic and an encyclopedic knowledge of pop melodies.
