This week, singer Taylor Swift has taken to Twitter to promote her highly-anticipated new video for “Bad Blood”. Among the list of the video’s exciting cameos is Kendrick Lamar, who will star as Welvin Da Great. On Sunday, May 10, Swift revealed that each person starring in the video chose their own character’s name and persona. With Kendrick Lamar’s incredible story-telling abilities, one can only imagine what’s in store.
Is Welvin Da Great an interesting ancient history scholar? Is he a young kid, trying to maneuver through life on streets of L.A.? Or, is he a cool 1970s master of funk who traveled through time to grace us with his presence? Kendrick has a way of out-doing himself each time we see him. We can expect him to peel back a new layer of talents when the “Bad Blood” video premieres Sunday, May 17 during the Billboard Music Awards.
