The beat that travelled: Play Kaidi and NK-OK’s ‘Não Tem Nada Não’ record more than once

If you’re looking for a hot Smooth Jazz song to vibe out to today, English musicians Kaidi and NK-OK are the ones. Does it sound familiar to you? It is because it is a rework of Marcos Valle’s 1973 song of the same name. What are the differences? The original version is like a kaleidoscope of genres from Europe, South America, Africa and the United States of America (based on how the creators perceive the work). After researching Valle and visiting Havana, Cuba, NK-OK played the rough draft to his musical partner, Kaidi. Next, he added the saxophone to the hooks, and he has a solo.

Although the song doesn’t have many lyrics, the musicians say it is “about a guy that’s no longer with the person he loved, and he is trying to come to terms with it.” He doesn’t like it, but he coaches himself into thinking it was the right thing to do, but it does not stop him from missing her.

Check out ‘Não Tem Nada Não’ now. It comes after the success of their EP ‘Time Capsule’, which featured on Spotify’s Jazztronica playlist.
