Judge blocks Texas ban on public drag performances

Today, US District Judge David Hittner temporarily blocked the state’s law limiting public drag performances. According to Reuters, the law, set to take effect on Friday, would have likely violate performers’ constitutional right to free speech. The federal judge blocked the law pending the outcome of lawsuit filed earlier this month by the American Civil Liberties Union.
