Joe wishes the worst for other man in “So I Can You Have Back”

Now I understand why men don’t like it when you are ‘just’ friends with other men (or previous boyfriends).

Joe

hen hearing the lyrics from Joe’s new song “So I Can Have You Back,” depending on who you are, you might think he is a slithering homewrecker. Maybe even a greedy, conniving adult man but emotions are real. At times, emotions get the best of you by invading your mental space. Subsequently, causing you to react.

“I hope he makes the biggest mistake,” sings Joe in the chorus of his new single. “The unforgivable that makes your heart break.”

Joseph “Joe” Lewis Thomas, what kind of selfish foolishness is that? According to the lyrics sung, he has been crying. He had been looking at old pictures of her smile. Joe misses his former girlfriend. However, I wonder what happened in the past. In the video, you find Joe and his leading lady arguing. But it is unclear why they’re not together.

The Georgia native singer-songwriter reveals he is the reason why things didn’t work out with his now, dream woman.

“I accept the blame as to why you’re with him.”

Hey, at least he is honest. Right? Seemingly it has been quite some time. It seems Joe has tried to be friends with her. The man in her life did not approve. (For good reason.)

As he has flashbacks and places himself in her life, in the current day, Joe wears a red-striped suit fit for Christmas time. Perhaps, there is symbolism in his wardrobe. He can be the best ‘gift’ she ever had if she returns by Christmas time. All terrible jokes aside, sitting in any restaurant with a broken heart is not fun. Especially if a hearty steak and wine in front of you.

The subjective mayhem continues, “I hope you tell him ‘Sorry’s just not enough.’”

Joe, you are too much. (Laughter.) Generally speaking as a young woman, it is good that someone somewhere might be plotting the downfall of your current ‘gig’ or ‘boo.’ I’m looking forward to re-meeting you in the future.

I think the morals of this story are:

Someone is always in the trenches, waiting for your downfall.
Joe can say, “I know I’ma get my bitch back” and there might be some truth to it.
There is no weakness in forgiving someone.

Watch Joe’s interesting video for his new single beneath the line break. It might encourage you to boss up and compete this holiday season.

This single is from his twelfth studio album. “My Name is Joe Thomas” (stylized as “#MyNameIsJoeThomas”) comes out this Friday on November 11.
