Persona La Ave & Baraka – Close My Eyes (Submission)

Mellow and smooth from the start, Persona La Ave & Baraka’s ‘Close My Eyes’ says it is all. Ease up the intensity of your day with the track produced by the Washington, DC-natives below.

JESUS CMPLXX – SUVI (Submission)

Once a helping hand to the stars (John Legend) or referred to as ‘Uncle Steve’ to an eighteen-year-old Beyoncé—according to the email received, the Canadian is now taking on a music career of his own. ‘SUVI’, the debut record by the former Sony Music Canada employee, is an upbeat dance track featuring additional outstanding vocals by Chloe Charles & Geoff Willingham. There isn’t much about the new artist online, nor photos, but something tells me he is going to be in it for the long haul. Quitting your job after ten years, to pursue a music career in a fledgeling business is no easy feat. Therefore, on a personal note, I applaud him. Get ready to vogue to the sensual ‘SUVI’.

LATASHA – Sumpn (Submission)

Known for the energy she’s able to bring to an audio format and in-person onstage, Brooklyn-native rapper LATASHA raps about maintaining integrity, sticking to Plan A, and more on her new track, ‘Sumpn’. Sometimes, Plan A is all you’ve got, so it has to work. I can relate. Without further ado, stream the audio.

Jo$e Rivera – Another Day featuring Curtis Williams and TCHitz (Submission)

Here’s a way to praise God and relate to the vast majority of Urban Contemporary Music listeners. I hadn’t heard of Jo$e Rivera before, but he brought a familiar energy to insert himself into the current conversation. Bravo to him. Listen to his new record ‘Another Day’ featuring Atlanta’s Curtis Williams and TCHitz now.

Jesirae – Shut It Down (Submission)

You can tell the Minnesota-based rapper Jesirae thinks about what she wants to say. Shouting praises to the legendary rappers Kanye West and JAY Z, it is no wonder where she draws inspiration. From line to line, her enthusiastic delivery pulls me in—even when I think she’s going to fall off of the beat. It’s what originality and style do, that’s when it’s born.

Ozmosis – Steez (Submission) (Bonus)

It displays enough repetition to get you out of bed. Plus, the hook is infectious and valid. Hear the new record by the San Diego recording artist below.
