If you’ve been active on Facebook within the last four years, there’s a good chance you are aware of a page called, Humans of New York.

Brandon Stanton, the creator of the social experiment, book, and now docu-series, has announced the thirteen-part series of the same name. Much like what I’ve built, Stanton’s project has taken on many forms. Will this be the last one? It’s not easy to tell, but we’re here for it. With more than 18 million followers on Facebook and another 7 million on Instagram, it’s safe to say that HONY has the digital viewership. To make the production that much credible, Julie Goldman, is involved. The Oscar-nominated documentary producer worked on Life, Animated and Weiner.

If you’re wondering what the HONY show is like, it’s like the blog. Full of candid conversations with perfect strangers on the streets of New York City. There’s plenty of footage because Stanton has interviewed more than 1,200 people since he started. Over the course of seven years, he has taken portraits of approximately 10,000 New Yorkers. My aunt and her husband were one of the many. Remarkably, because of it, I’ve connected with distant relatives on Facebook.

Facebook will roll out new episodes every Tuesday to its two billion users. Watch the trailer of the docu-series now on Facebook’s new platform called The Watch, or beneath this line of text.
