In her recent interview with Complex, twigs goes into further detail on the new project “The EP is called Melissa, and ‘Melissa’ to me is my personal female energy. I’ve never called it ‘Melissa’ before the EP. It’s not a weird alter ego. It’s just my way of separating it from myself.”
Known for her cinematic conceptual videos (pieces of art), she never leaves her professional background in dance behind. Whether it’s voguing, rhythmic contorting, mechanical folds, or sharp angular bends, her style is contrasted with soft / subtle feminine shapes. All of these strong segments pay homage to legends in the dance world.
