Surf is fun music, as we all usually associate it with water, the sun, the beach and fun times. The Moonjacks, fittingly from California, are a teenaged Garage Punk band that creates music authentic to their hometown and lifestyles. ‘Bummer’, a word that describes “the misfortune of something or someone” according to the Urban Dictionary, in this sense refers to the vocalist. He’s a bummer. It’s good to hear someone take responsibility and be accountable.

Hövring – Heart’s on the Line (Submission)
If you’re looking for a smooth track to add to your early morning rising, the style of music that Hövring makes wouldn’t fully interrupt your daily happenings unless you have a small child in your space or you’re a die-hard Christian. If so, we’re sure there’s a parental advisory version for that F-bomb that makes a cameo during the chorus of the song. Regardless, it is an energy-booster, kind of like that breakfast sandwich you’re about to consume.
Allday – Lungs (Submission)
Songs that we can remember and sing along to stay at the front of our minds. It’s the reason why when I heard the chorus on ‘Lungs’ I had to play it again. Australian artist Allday is now Los Angeles-based readying to release his new album ‘From Starry Night Over the Phone’ later this year on Ultra Records. An artist with a knack for becoming one with the melody, I believe Allday will be around for a long time. He seems to have the know-how of songwriting and what’s on trend.
The W Lovers – The Little Town (Submission)
Have you ever been to a small little town? Most of the people know each other. Everyone is in each other’s business, with good reason, and when a foreigner comes to town, they stick out like a sore thumb. Without the lyrics playing out, you can almost hear the calmness of countryside living. Waking up in a place far from home where the ambulance doesn’t interrupt your beauty sleep is second to none, as far as rest is concerned. Enjoy ‘The Little Town’ by The W Lovers.
Eylie – Singing Without You (Submission)
Some people don’t look for things to pull their heartstrings in the morning, but if you did, ‘Singing Without You’ by Swedish singer-songwriter Eylie is one to consider. Inspired by her father, whom she recently lost to his battle with cancer, she pieces together real footage to pay homage to her father through her art. If you’ve ever lost someone so close to you, you may identify with the words of the song.
