When you are as popular as the woman Rome Logan sings about in ‘How Many’, or you are one of the many men who have the pleasure of being in her presence, you can relate. It has to be hard to be in his shoes. Let’s listen to the Tennesse-bound R&B singer as he counts the many men in the chorus of the song.
iridea – Geometry (Submission)
What drew me in was the gnarly vocals on the track. Most times, for me, with Metal bands, they’re lyrics aren’t the primary focus. The way it makes you feel, plus the high energy is what makes a song a song. Listen to the record by the brother Matthew and Daniel Headland below. It is from the Progressive Metal band iridea’s debut EP, ‘agitationist’.
Scally – Filthy Animal (Submission)
When you aren’t yourself, or when people start to treat you differently, you tend to feel like an animal. That’s where Irish band Scally’s new record took me, to the moments of betrayal, mistreatment, and embarrassment. Does the visual tell that story? Is it synonymous with what I think? Maybe, but what I will say it is a very intense storyline. Watch the official video, then, let me know where it takes you. I don’t think I’ve ever received a submission from anyone who is from Mullingar, a county town of County Westmeath.
Notio – The Chosen Road (Submission)
Filled with loads of energy that could fill a decent-sized parking garage, Finnish Metalcore band Notio shares ‘The Chosen Road’. It’s the first single from their debut album, ‘Lucid Dreams for Sale’. The band says “the album’s story revolves around a dystopian society, in which a person can achieve human dignity only through personal success. Nardo, the main character of the story, tries to free his fellow peers by creating a virtual reality simulation so that they can escape the tight control of the government.” Listen to the record below.
