As the community watches with heavy hearts, we get to see Nipsey Hussle on this Earth with us, doing what he loved to do. In the Compton-native rapper’s verse, he describes the unlikeliness of his existence due to his grandmother’s miscarriages and the slim chance of his mother being born. In hindsight, it—the words to the song—is one of the hardest things to hear, but it is what he was good at; telling hard truths and making a difference—one day at a time. He’s wearing the perfect outfit, appearing angelic and perfect.
