Review: Dave East continues to put on for Harlem with ‘Karma 2’

Dave East continues to put on for Harlem with the release of his new mixtape ‘Karma 2’. He starts this project off with an added insight into karma, giving us the rules of it, how to manoeuvre correctly with it, and leaves us with a warning, “your existence is challenged by karma, choose wisely”. Dave East, in this project, tells us about his life, things that changed, things that can’t change, and moments that shaped him. From ‘NOBU’ which talks about the glamour of fame and wealth, to ‘Traumatized’, which discusses the all too familiar trauma from growing up in the streets and losing friends, and even tracks like ‘Day Dreaming’ where he talks about the love he dreams about, he skillfully shared with listeners his personal journey through life, and how he feels about it. This mixtape features Fellow New York artists, Fabolous and Don Q, as well as, Lil Durk, Trouble, Gunna and more. ‘Karma 2’ definitely is another project that showcases the raw, lyrical storytelling ability of Dave East.
