Charlie Lane – Crazy Happy (Submission)
Whether you agree or not, some voices are meant to be heard at certain times of the day. In my opinion, Australian singer-songwriter Charlie Lane’s vocals are perfect for the daytime. Couldn’t you picture her songs playing from the speakers at coffee shops or seeing her in an airport for one of those pop-up performances? In my mind, she wouldn’t need a microphone or a megaphone. Overhearing her friendly voice sing the lyrics from that song—from a distance—would make me double take. Then, inquire about her origins and her intentions. I know. It may be a lot to you, but it’s the investigative spirit in me. Give the Melbourne artist your ears. You won’t be disappointed!
Tiavara – Not A Hero (Submission)
Generally, anything that falls within the genre would make the cut. However, the singing at the beginning is what piqued my interest. I’d have those billowy vocals on repeat in my phone. Imagine setting a tune called ‘Not A Hero’ to wake you up in the morning when your alarm clock is supposed to be your AI hero…
TyC – Tongue Tide featuring Jordan Humphrey (Submission)
What a soothing voice. Most of the people in North America will wake up soon, but I’m going to head to bed in two hours. It’s a different treatment from what I’ve covered in the past by TyC, but I think it is his biggest record yet—in terms of production and its sound. Listen to his new record titled ‘Tongue Tide’ featuring Jordan Humphrey now.
Seann Bowe – Golden (Submission)
Did you hear the start of the music? Just, listen to the words of the song. I am convinced it was made to be on a morning playlist. It’s what Dream Pop is all about! Hear Los Angeles singer-songwriter Seann Bowe’s ‘Golden’ on Spotify. Then, you can check out the demo below.
Kai – ZZZ! featuring Big Hit (Submission)
‘ZZZ’ would scare the crap out of me if I came on right now. Case closed. Additionally, if you must know I would dance—nonstop—in a nightclub to the track. Add it to your playlist!
TUNNELMENTAL – The Stranger’s Voice (Submission) (Bonus)
Hurting yourself to help someone else isn’t advised. Although, I am old enough to know that it is a common behaviour. Nonetheless, ‘The Stranger’s Voice’ is a song that I’d rather hear during the day instead of the night. Stream the audio below to see why.
Jamar Carr – American Way (Submission) (Bonus)
Speaking of waking up, Jamar Carr’s ‘American Way’ intends to reach the woke individuals and open the eyes of the sleeping population. From addressing drugs in the neighbourhood to the American government, he isn’t afraid to speak his truth. Check out the audio from ‘American Way’ below. It comes from his latest album: Politically Incorrect: Wealth in the Ghetto.
Dav – Hyperbolic Time Chamber featuring Perspecktive (Submission) (Bonus)
Specifically, the beginning of this record reminded me of an alarm clock. It’s the kind of song to wake you up out of your sleep when you’re dreading the idea of adulting.
