Discovered by a Ghanian producer, Blitz the Ambassador began marking his way into music in 2004 with a self-released album ‘Soul Rebel’, followed by numerous of EPs and albums after. Given that the young Ambassador was born and raised in Accra, Ghana, he embeds his West African roots in his newest and first single ‘JuJu Girl’ from his upcoming album: Diasporadical.
The video is a short movie, as Blitz plays the cat and mouse game with a representation of a mythological blaque beauty dressed in all white with only a flower in her natural tresses. At first glance, the video is reminiscent of Janet Jackson and Q-Tip’s single, ‘Got Till It’s Gone’ from the sweaty jukejoint, down to the vibrant yet Earth tone African prints and suits. There’s a clip where the blaque stallion runs from Blitz’s grips into a small crowd of elders in the middle of a ritual. The unknown lady continues to prance and twirl in a circle of the healers, as if they have been waiting for her the entire time. With what may seems to only be seconds left, Blitz finally catches up to the woman of his hour just to have her vanish along with the crowd. A little something like Blaque Magic.
