When there’s a new face in the industry, ordinary people tend to think it is an overnight success story. Most of the time, it is far from the truth. Even if nepotism and wads of cash are involved, it takes years, in some cases, even decades to make it and stick to mainstream platforms. You might ask yourself: Why? Think about all of the people you know who are aspiring to be in the entertainment business. Then, ask yourself another question: Do I know anyone in the industry? The number is probably one percent of your first answer.

blackbear, the Daytona Beach-native musician, has a bulky resume. He has worked with a plethora of artists like Billie Eilish, Childish Gambino, G-Eazy, James Blake, Linkin Park, Mod Sun, Pharrell Williams, and more. He is also a record producer. He produced the title track from G-Eazy’s ‘These Things Happen’ album. According to Wikipedia, Blackbear is the first independent artist to make money off of the Berlin online audio distribution platform in 2014. Most importantly, last month, the artist donated $5,514 to the Las Vegas Victim’s Fund after the mass shooting occurred.

Finally, hear the descriptive project by the guy who co-wrote ‘Boyfriend’ with the pop star below. As a matter of fact, ou’ll learn more about the singer-songwriter and rapper.
