In a heartfelt interview with Entertainment Tonight, Blac Chyna—who now embraces her birth name, Angela White—offered a candid look at why she and GRAMMY-winning songwriter Derrick Milano mutually decided to end their engagement. The split, announced just over a month after they revealed their plans to wed, was far from dramatic.

“First of all, it was mutual”, Chyna explained. “I’m going in a different direction than Derrick… like we’re both doing our own things”.

At thirty-seven, White is refocusing her energy on healing, her family, and her spirituality.

She shared, “I feel like I just really need to focus on myself and my kids”, emphasising her desire to prioritise personal growth and motherhood.

Despite the breakup, there’s no acrimony between Angela White and Derrick Milano.

“We’re really good friends still”, she reassured fans. “I’ll still call, ‘Hey, you good? Is everything okay?’”

White also stressed that no scandal prompted their split: “Nothing happened. Nobody cheated… growing in different directions, for sure”—a mature and grounded perspective on parting ways.

Reflecting on the nature of healthy relationships, White added, “Sometimes people stay in relationships too long… then that’s toxic, and then you start to grow this hatred toward the next person.” Her words underscore the importance of recognising when paths diverge and allowing space for growth.

White’s openness about her split from Milano not only sheds light on her emotional journey but also highlights her resolve to move forward with grace, self-awareness, and devotion to her children.
