Billie Eilish teaches how to handle complex sexuality in ‘wish you were gay’: Listen

Life is hard enough; Billie Eilish makes it a little easier.

During New York Fashion Week in September 2018, I had the opportunity to sit at the table to have dinner with Billie Eilish, her mother, and other stars like Khalid. I’d been a fan before then, as one of the publicists I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years, introduced me to her sound from the start of her career. From the beginning, I enjoyed her choice of titling. Her titles get to the point, it’s edgy, and dark, sometimes.

I can bet that ‘wish you were gay’ will help people her age (17), and older, identify with the deep complexities of human sexuality. We all aren’t cisgender, straight, nor do we know all of the answers. Life is hard enough; Billie Eilish makes it a little easier.

Listen to the new single released this week on Interscope Records below, as she teaches us all how to handle real-life issues. It’s such a beautiful song. I want to see how the music video turns out.
