Although his last project came out in 2019, the Tema, Ghana-native artist B4Bonah is making a sizable impact on me today with his well-produced EP ‘B4Beginning’. Implementing sounds that are indicative to an American audience, like ‘Nsa Papa’ and ‘Shame’ (Trap), ‘4U’ (R&B), it is easier to experience for anyone who doesn’t usually listen to African music. The twenty-nine-year-old artist is onto something. In 2018, Ghana Music Awards nominated him for three categories. He received support from his fellow Ghanaian artists like M.anifest (‘Devil’s Liar Remix’) and Sarkodie (‘Dear God Remix’), who happen to be two of my favourite artists.
‘B4Beginning’ has been carrying his fans through the global pandemic. Hopefully, it will do the same for you. My favourites are ‘Nsa Papa’ and ‘See Body’. Check out the creative visual below.
