During Tim Cook’s visit to China, he spoke about the Apple Watch being released in June. It will also include the company stores out in China. At the Apple headquarters in China, Cook mentioned that they are working on making more watches. Many are happy and anticipating the release of the watch since you can basically talk, text, tweet, and much more with the watch. Not only did he speak about the watch but also about Apple Pay in China. By his side was Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue. He was brought along for the trip to meet with potential China Apple Pay partners. Even with China being newly exposed to Apple Pay, they do hope it will compare to the U.S. execution. Many employees and staff members had questions for Cook during the meeting. One of the questions were along the lines of:
If he believes that China will surpass the U.S. as the region that brings in the most revenue for Apple?
Cook said,
“I do think that China will surpass the U.S., it’s just a matter of time,” — “It’s very difficult to predict when exactly it will occur, but if we do our jobs right, it will occur.”
I think that China will take over the U.S. market in a heartbeat. We will need to wait and see what actually happens.
