Award-winning poet Andrea Gibson was inspired to write the new piece “Radio” by two things: Bon Iver and love.

From the moment we met, I knew. When I was sitting up late at night thinking about every inch of her personality, I knew. The way her smile brightened up my soul when it had been in the dark for so long with no hope of light, I knew. The way she made me feel like a brand new person every time she touched me, I knew.
Have you ever sat and thought about everything that you loved about your partner? Everything from the way they sneeze down to how they walk into a room. I mean, how could you not admire every little thing about them? Reminding yourself of why you were in love, pinching yourself to make sure it is not a dream. It can take what seems like a lifetime to find the right person that matches your swag equally. It took me a while to find. I thought it would never happen. Telling myself that, as long as I went to my friend’s weddings, it was like I was married and was okay with that, on the outside.
It is worth the watch.
Inside, I knew something was missing. I am tired of going to the clubs, chasing one bad experience after another. I wanted what my grandparents had. That unconditional, never-ending love. That, it doesn’t matter what you do in life, I will always be by your side love. In her new video award-winning poet, Andrea Gibson speaks about this sometimes forgotten emotion, love. The simple things about what you love about your partner, like the way she clips her fingernails to the way she peels an orange.
The simple things about what you love about your partner, like the way she clips her fingernails to the way she peels an orange. “Radio” is the kind of song that makes you focus on the right things—needing to love more things about the people in your life. I used to wonder what it meant when my grandma would tell my grandpa that she “loved his dirty draws.” I would think that was so gross, but now thinking about it, that is the most beautiful love in the world.
Watch the video below. Then, tell your partner that you love them, everything about them.
