Before today, South African rapper AKA wasn’t on my radar. According to a local news website in his hometown, his record ‘Fela In Versace’ went 4x platinum. It’s a difficult achievement to acquire these days, so it is commendable. Not so bad for a media personality turned rapper, huh? Watch the video for ‘Fela In Versace’ featuring Kiddominant below.

If you aren’t familiar with Fela Kuti, he is an iconic musician from Nigeria. He is a pioneer of Afrobeat, which is now seeing global success in its modern variations through various African artists today. If you must know, I love most of Fela Kuti’s musical arrangements, but ‘Zombie’, ‘Water Get No Enemy’, and ‘Expensive Sh*t’ are my all-time favourite tracks.
