Recently, Nigerian artists Ajebutter22 and Ajebo Hustlers released a chill track, ‘Enjoyment’. It starts with a hook detailing the life of about a young woman getting a VISA to a foreign country, boarding the plane, and doing everything in her power except to return. I don’t know if I’ve missed the message or chronological storytelling isn’t literal here, but when the “Yoruba Shakespeare” begins his verse, it doesn’t readily add up. We wanted to see sassiness and violence coming from our sister and a man chasing her around the world. Ah, a girl can dream. Regardless, it is a good tune to add to your end-of-the-year playlists.
