This week’s #5NewVideos list consists of Skux, Suzi Analogue, MadeinTYO, and more.
Skux “On Her Way” (Submitted)
Wandering off into the woods isn’t a pastime for us city kids but Skux seems to know a thing or two about fun and danger. In her new video for “On Her Way,” Ayisha Jaffer and friends eats marshmallows, throw a house party and more in New Zealand. Not bad for a Scooby Doo-inspired video.
MadeinTYO “Mr. Tokyo” (Submitted)
Best known for his hit single “Uber Everywhere,” MadeinTYO is back with the video for “Mr. Tokyo.” Living in Tokyo during his teenage years with his (military) family, it’s no wonder why the prefecture holds a place in his heart.
Suzi Analogue & Queens D. Light “Multiplyyy” (Personal)
Suzi Analogue has been on a roll this year. From playing the Hopscotch Music Festival to being featured on Pitchfork for her collaboration with DJ Earl, she also released the second installment of ZONEZ. Earlier in the year, the producer-songwriter paired with Queens D. Light for “Multiplyyy.” Tune-Yards premiered the song on her radio show on Red Bull Music Academy (C.L.A.W.).
POP ETC “Vice” (Submitted)
As nasty as most of the meals are in this video, Berkeley-native Brooklyn-based indie rock outfit POP ETC shows off their cooking skills. Besides the interesting visual, “Vice” is an uptempo song you can listen to as you eat ramen. You should try it.
Sammus “Mighty Morphing” (Personal)
Yesterday Sammus’ song “1080p” was featured on GrungeCake as a Song of the Day. Today, the talented recording artist joins the list of five new videos you should all watch to get through your week. Check out the “Mighty Morphing” video. If you like astute lyrics, you will appreciate Sammus and the outstanding and entertainment perspective she brings to the current landscape of popular music.
