It is with critical praise from the likes of NPR, Pitchfork, SPIN, Vogue, BBC and beyond that Until The Ribbon Breaks announce the release of their highly-anticipated debut album “A Lesson Unlearnt” out on November 4.

It’s style (straight out of a golden era when the mix-tape reigned supreme) embraces a love of old school Hip-Hop, Pop and Electronic beats, cleverly weaved together to create sounds, samples and lyrics not unlike that of previous musical genre-hopping masters; Bowie, Beck, Prince, Portishead, Primal Scream and Massive Attack.

Pete Lawrie-Winfield (lead vox, keys, percussion, brass) describes
I reached a point where creativity no longer held the same spark and I needed to learn a new way to express what I was feeling. I needed to ‘unlearn’ and start again. I needed to re-imagine the endless possibility and infinite chance of sitting in front of a piano, a drum machine and a movie projector to empty the mind: “A Lesson Unlearnt.
Bringing the album to life, the band: Pete Lawrie-Winfield, James Gordon (synth); and Elliot Wall (drums) will be hitting the road as direct support to fellow British Trip-hop trio London Grammar. The 13-date tour will commence on November 7 in Washington, D.C. and will wrap on November 29 in Oakland, California. To mark their support last month Until The Ribbon Breaks premiered an exclusive re-imagination and video of London Grammar’s “Sights.” View it on Vogue.
