Last year, breakout star Cleveland-native rapper Lil Bizzy joined us on our SXSW official stage. It was his first time at the music festival. This year, we’re delighted to present new talent from all over the country. Our lineup includes singer-songwriters from Brooklyn to Detroit (BXHXLD and King Visionary), more than one woman onstage (BVNGS, Connie Diiamond, KentheMan, Latasha, and Lil Westside KeKe), an eclectic producer-DJ from Seattle (Sax G), and an upstart Alt-Punk band from Denver, Colorado (SKRVLLZ). We will also enjoy sets by DJ Alisha B (KGNU 88.5 FM Eclipse) and DJ Kolby TurnHer (Alamo Records).

If you’re in town, come out to our free showcase to enjoy live music curated by Richardine, FASHIONSPITTA, and FOE. If you’re early enough, you can enjoy pastries by our event sponsor: Just a TidBit.

No wristbands and RSVPs required. We’d love to see your smile!

This year, we decided to make the snake a focus of our lineup flyer for one reason. We could have used a cute dog instead, but what would be the benefit? Most people like dogs. If a sweet dog walked up to someone with a demo, they'd probably give it the time of day. On the other hand, like snakes, a substantial portion of the human race has an apt fear of supporting new artists they don't know, or who are without cosigns. Luckily, we don't suffer from Ophidiophobia (or the fear of snakes). On a daily basis, we go where most people don't want to go—into the underground burrows of the hissing legless reptiles. It is a pleasure to announce the lineup of our SXSW music showcase. If you are in Austin, Texas on Thursday, March 15, pop into our free 11th-anniversary show at The Eastern on East 6th Street to check out our eclectic list of recording artists and DJs do what they do best. No wristbands are needed. Come one, come all. We welcome those with a passion for artistry, imperfection, and embracing what's to come in the future. #GRUNGECAKE11 #SXSW #SXSW2018
