Covering Williamsburg Fashion Weekend this September, GrungeCake is proud to share the details of the weekend!

Born into this world as Jerime Shelton, a great new artist that is bringing the authenticity back to Hip-Hop. Reallionaire hails from the fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada (and yes, that was in my infomercial voice) and has spent most of his youth in a small town in Illinois by the name of Alton or better know by him as “A Little Town Of Ni***s” (laughs).

Though, you might be a girl who doesn’t like porn or pornographic tactics to sell books, the faux-porn trailers below made me read “Snuff” online!

Yesterday, Monday August 2, 2010, GrungeCake Magazine covered Kosha Dillz’s show at Le Poisson Rouge in the West Village of New York City. Joined by some of the greatest entrepreneurs and musicians, we were intrigued by domestic interior design, the acts, the night, and the performance of our friends!

Burgers. Babes. Babes and burgers? We’ love them both, so there’s no mysterious tale as to why we enjoy Dai Burger, a local New York performing artist whom has shared the stage familiar faces in the music industry today. She is versatile, original, and has a great attitude.

I read a lot, but I haven’t come across something this massive in a while. To hear that restaurants and markets are throwing away food is one thing. Seeing a figure is another. Every year, restaurants, supermarkets, other food service establishments, and individual households dump an average of 14 billion pounds of food waste. 14 billion pounds of food? Like food, if good health and free dentistry was measurable, I would distribute as many pounds of it. Why aren’t we donating this food on the weekends to people who’re going hungry in this recession, college students who’re not fortunate, and to low income neighborhoods?

Rabbits: when thinking about the animal two adjectives come to mind: swift and fluffy. I’m unsure if it’s Miike Snow’s intention. Then, of course, other things come to mind: Bugs Bunny, Fatal Attraction, the tortoise, the hare and the character from Winnie the Pooh. Oh, how television has an affect!

A few months back, “Kiss with a Fist” [video below] by Florence and the Machine was posted here as Video of the Moment and dedicated to my lover. Today, whilst web browsing I came across a great mix by that I needed to share with you. Please take the time out to get into Florence and the Machine!

July 30th 2010, Brussels – Malaysian electropop singer Ze! premieres new music video “Boys I Like” simultaneously in 5 different cities around the globe at midnight tonight.
“Boys I Like” was shot in Hollywood last April by a team of new and upcoming film directors collectively known as Schlub Films. Ze! met director Eugene Lee back in 2008 when she was participating in an Asian Talent Show called, Sutasi in which Lee was a host. The two decided to work together on this music video when Ze! visited LA, stayed in Lee’s apartment and met his friendly group of actor-friends.
“Working with the Schlubs was a lot of fun” says Ze!. “They’re a hyperactive bunch with an eternity of ideas. They’ve done a few really good short films but it was their first time producing a music video, which was maybe what made the process even more exciting.”
“Hanging out with Eugene’s friends was a great experience as it gave me an insight as to what life is really like as actors. The annoying thing is they’re all amazing actors which only made me feel like a goofball on set. They were at least nice enough not to laugh at me.”
‘Boys I Like’ is written by Ze! and producer Ruben Debusschere; a track taken off of Ze!’s new electro-pop album I Am Glam and was the first single released in 2007 along with 3 remixes. I Am Glam is distributed worldwide by Believe Digital and now available for download via all major digital music stores including iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Napster, Nokia Music Store and more.
