On Monday, June 28, 2010, GrungeCake Magazine debuted its artists for its new venture, GrungeCake Records. With our special guest performer, Dai Burger and special guest host, Peter Hadar, the Members Only party was hot, smooth, raw, and uncut. Often, the power of meaningful social networking underestimates. Nearly a month ago, I shared a conversation with Plastic God and through that relationship, Signtologist became “the homie.” Sharing a relationship of friendship and respect with Colorado Emcee Whygee, when Whygee came to my home a few days ago, quickly he spotted The Signtologist stickers on my desktop computer and immediately took a picture. DUNN, aka ‘The Signtologist’ recycles discarded street signs as a canvas for his unique art.
Dunn’s work has appeared in dozens of national outlets including XXL and he has created art for hundreds of athletes, artists and musicians such as Ludacris, Spike Lee, Pharrell Williams and Slick Rick to name a few.

Aakash Nihalani’s Bio:

My street work consists mostly of isometric rectangles and squares. I selectively place these graphics around New York to highlight the unexpected contours and elegant geometry of the city itself. All execution of a piece is done on site with little to no planning.

For however briefly, I am trying to offer people a chance to step into a different New York than they are used to seeing, and in turn, momentarily escape from routine schedules and lives. We all need the opportunity to see the city more playfully, as a world dominated by the interplay of very basic colour and shape. I try to create a new space within the existing space of our everyday world for people to enter freely, and unexpectedly ‘disconnect’ from their reality. For more, click here.

Poster Boy’s Bio:

Poster Boy is an anonymous New York City based street artist whose only utensil is a razor. He is known for satiric collage-like works created by cutting out sections of the self-adhesive advertisement posters in the platforms of New York City subway stations, and pasting them back in different positions. He lives in Brooklyn, New York. Poster Boy also refers to a ‘Poster Boy movement‘ where other people produce similar unsigned work in the New York City subways imitating this original artist.
