The L.A. underground has many voices, some covered in grit and dirt, some slapping the halt, some hitting high and brassy — but none ring truer than that of Nocando. A seasoned member of the hip-hop community who isn’t content to count his battle scars by the dozens, Nocando brings fresh rhymes week after week at the world-renowned club night Low End Theory where he is the resident host, as well as to a variety of steazy joints all around the West Coast.

Born in Nigeria, Nneka relocated some 10,000 miles to Hamburg, Germany, at the age of nineteen to pursue a career in singing along side a degree in Anthropology. Having landed in the German port, the singer hooked up with DJ and Hip-Hop beatmaker DJ Farhot and ever since, their strong musical relationship has been the backbone of Nneka’s success. Her influences reflect her younger days in Nigeria as well as her time in the Western world. The distance she has travels shines through in her voice as does her diverse musical influences. She cites famous compatriot Fela Kuti and legend Bob Marley as well as contemporary rappers Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Mobb Deep and Lauryn Hill as key influences in her pursuit of musical recognition.
Cinema Stereo is Alicia Spargo, a computer, a keyboard and several redbulls. I make music on my computer and then sample video to be projected behind me when I perform live. Owl City is an American synthpop musical project by Adam Young. Young started out making music in his parents’ basement in Owatonna, Minnesota which he claims is a result of his insomnia.

Floridian Hip-Hop Recording Artist Chop has blessed us with her uplifting, educational, and keen lyrics and lyrical structure. When I first listened to my friend, Chop, I thought I was dreaming. It has been a long while since a “new” female on the scene was fully dressed, from head to toe. Whilst, I don’t mind a likkle skin — I yearn for words more than lust.
