#5NewVideos To Get You Through The Week: 14

This week’s #5NewVideos list consists of Boy & Bear, Zara Larsson, Joe Probert, and more.

Boy & Bear “Southern Sun” (Submitted)

Boy & Bear are an Australian band known for tight snaking rhythms, silky harmonies, and instrumentals that are intense. It was their music video treatments that pulled me in, personally. All treatments from “Limit Of Love” to “Bridges” and “Southern Sun,” Boy & Bear are entertaining: sonically and visually. If 1990s MTV programming still existed, Boy & Bear would be high on the countdown lists. Next week, Boy & Bear plays live at Highline Ballroom. Join me in supporting the artists. Buy your ticket to the show via this link. Watch their video for “Limit Of Love” below.

Zara Larsson “Ain’t My Fault” (Personal)

It isn’t her fault. Zara Larsson, a fashionably inclined recording artist, is from Stockholm, Sweden. Implementing bright hues (“Lush Life”) and sensual vibes (“Ain’t My Fault”) to win in the pop world, the artist is next up to truly breakthrough. None of it is her fault. Not even her smash hit “Never Forget You” featuring MNEK, which she performed on Jimmy Fallon’s show in April.

Samuel Jack “Let It All Out” (Personal)

Totally into regular-looking men, whatever that is, so when I saw Samuel Jack’s video, I knew I wanted to write about it. The video isn’t over-the-top, so it matches the tone and message of the song. If you like nature and good times, you might enjoy this. There’s an acoustic version of “Let It All Out” for free download.

Joe Probert “I Was In Love” (Personal)

Small white gauges, a dark blonde ‘man bun’ and a sultry voice, Joe Probert is a talented songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist from Bristol, the Southwest end of England. He is 19-years-old, seemingly doesn’t like to focus on his face much (see the cover of his EP: Shake This Fate), and has performed live for Virgin Radio UK. After you download his 4-track EP, be on the lookout for more releases.

Sevyn Streeter “Polly” featuring Gucci Mane (Personal)

For a song and video that came out during the summer featuring Gucci Mane, it’s hard to believe that the video has less than a million views. Both Atlanta-based artists team up for a video with end-of-the-world apocalyptic treatment. Sevyn Streeter, seemingly, there’s a glitch in the matrix. Please fix the error (marketing, public relations, and management) soon. We love you, here, at GrungeCake. You are a gifted songwriter, gorgeous, and you can sing your tail off. We’re rooting for you, girl.

Sevyn Streeter “My Love For You” (Personal Video Bonus)

This video also has under a million views. “My Love For You” is from her upcoming album, Girl Disrupted. Sevyn Streeter shows off her delectable choreographed dance moves, halfway-dressed sexiness atop a vintage convertible, and serves face in a black and white shot.
